What is Generation Rebellion?
Generation Rebellion is part of the international movement of Extinction Rebellion. This group encourages teenagers to participate in direct action against the industries that are contributing to climate change and the sixth mass extinction of life on earth. We are a decentralized non-hierarchical non-anthropocentric group of teenagers committed to shutting down the fossil fuel industry, halting deforestation, the exploitation of our oceans, and our land. Our generation will be the first generation that may die because of climate change and the last generation with the power to do something to stop it. Therefore we must be the generation of rebellion. Generation Rebellion. We have decided to risk our freedom to act because a failure to do so means the death of billions of humans, trillions of non-humans, and the collapse of ecosystems and the basic life support system of our planet.
Inaction is our worst nightmare.
We are teens taking non-violent direct action against the folks destroying Earth. Folks like Shell, Adani, Kinder Morgan, and Weyerhaeuser. {Basically most any company listed on the New York Stock Exchange or the international equivalent}… also private companies, some individuals, and most governments. Because if we leave it up to them, we’ll die in a climate apocalypses. Then teenagers would be extinct. That would be sad 🙁
